A little bit more about me

I'm 25 years old, my current weight is 83kg(182,6lb) and my height is 1,71m(5'6). My overweight problem started when I was 9 or 10 years old. Since then, I have been dealing with this and all the consequences and situations that come along with this problem.

My life in school wasn't easy at all. Kids and teenagers are mean and I was always bullied about my extra weight. I always had good friends so that helped me a little bit to deal with the insults. P.E. class was hell to me. I was normally last in everything and I was ashamed of showing my legs.

After that, insults didn't stop but at least they weren't as painful as they were in school.

At some point of my life(about 9 years ago), my weight was 94kg(206,8lb). My body was screaming for help, so I decided to start going to acupuncture(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Acupuncture), they gave me an strict diet to follow and I used to work out 5 times a week. I did indeed drop weight(12kg = 26,4lb) in like three and a half months.

The problem came when it was Christmas and all the different types of food come! I just didn't know what to eat, so I ate everything that was in front of me! In January I couldn't be bothered to go back to acupuncture neither do some excercise, so I started to gain back all the weight I had already dropped.

After that, I went through other stupid methods like pills, excercise I don't like, extreme diets, etc.

Last year I understood that there are no magical recipes or anything like that. It's all about doing the excercise you like, eat well, drink water, effort, strength of spirit, get to know yourself(mentally and physically) a little bit more and most important, admit that you have a problem and you're willing to do some sacrifices.

I now keep that on my mind and just try my best everyday. I'm not perfect and I do make some mistakes, but now I don't consider using some stupid pills that aren't good for me and may damage my body.

I enjoy the excercise I do and the food I eat. It's about feeling good with yourself and make a change for the sake of your health!
